1. Who We Are

The Lagos Cleaner Energy Schools Innovation Challenge (LCESIC) 2026 is administered by the Lagos State Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), with Suwebatu acting as the technology implementation partner. References to "we", "us", or "the organisers" in this policy refer collectively to MEMR and Suwebatu.

This portal is operated at lcesic.ng and is linked from lagosstate.gov.ng.

2. What Data We Collect

When you register a team or create an account on this portal, we collect:

Team name and chosen challenge track
Names, class year (SS1 or SS2), and school of each student member
Teacher Mentor name and contact email
District Coordinator name
School name, type (public or private), and education district
Login credentials (email address and hashed password)
Proposal submission content and uploaded schematic files

We do not collect payment card details, national identity numbers, or any biometric data.

3. Why We Collect It

We use your data solely to:

Process your team registration and assign a unique Team ID
Send confirmation emails and challenge updates to the registered Teacher Mentor
Allow evaluators to review and score proposals (anonymised - no school name is shown)
Produce district and state-level results
Contact schools with logistical information for district finals and the state championship

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share data with:

Lagos State Education Districts I, II, and III offices, for coordination and verification
The MEMR evaluation panel (anonymised proposals only)
Cloudinary (file storage provider), under a data processing agreement

5. Data Retention

Registration and submission data will be retained for two years following the close of LCESIC 2026, after which it will be securely deleted. Winners' names and school names may be retained indefinitely in public records as part of the official challenge results.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at the address below. Deletion requests received after the submission deadline may affect your team's eligibility to participate in finals.

7. Cookies

This portal uses a single session cookie required to keep you logged in. No third-party tracking or advertising cookies are used. No analytics tools are active on this portal.
