Eligibility
Which students are eligible?
Only SS1 and SS2 students are eligible. SS3 students cannot participate, regardless of when they were enrolled.
Can students from different schools form one team?
No. All 5 team members must be enrolled at the same school.
Are schools in Districts IV to VI eligible?
No. LCESIC 2026 is a pilot covering Education Districts I, II, and III only. Schools from Districts IV, V, and VI are not eligible for this edition.
How do I know if my private school is on the MBSE OEQA whitelist?
Contact your District Education Office or the MEMR directly. The whitelist will also be published on this portal before registration opens.
Can a school enter more than one team?
No. Each school registers one team only. The challenge awards an innovation toolkit per participating school, so participation is limited to a single team per school.
Registration
Who fills in the registration form?
The Teacher Mentor registers on behalf of the team. The Teacher Mentor is also the primary contact for all correspondence.
What is a Team ID?
Your Team ID is a unique reference code in the format LCESIC-D{district}-{PUB/PVT}-{number}, e.g. LCESIC-D1-PUB-042. It is generated automatically when registration is approved and is used to log in to the team dashboard.
Can I change team members after registration?
Member changes are permitted up to the submission deadline. Contact your District Coordinator to request a change. Changes after the deadline will not be accepted.
We do not have a District Coordinator yet. Can we still register?
The District Coordinator is assigned by the district office, not by the team. Contact your Education District I, II, or III office to be assigned one. Registration requires a Coordinator name.
Tracks and submission
Can we change our challenge track after registering?
Track changes are allowed up to the submission deadline, subject to availability. Contact the MEMR support email to request a change.
What is the word limit for the concept brief?
The concept brief must not exceed 500 words. The portal enforces this limit server-side and will not accept a submission that exceeds it.
What file formats are accepted for the schematic upload?
PDF, PNG, and JPEG only. Maximum file size is 2.5 MB. Files in other formats (e.g. Word, PowerPoint) will be rejected.
Can we submit multiple schematics?
Each team submits one schematic file. If your design includes multiple diagrams, combine them into a single PDF before uploading.
Can we edit our submission after submitting?
No. Once submitted, proposals are locked. Review your concept brief and schematic carefully before clicking Submit.
Evaluation
How are proposals scored?
Each proposal is scored against a 100-point rubric by a panel of MEMR engineers, school inspectors, and university judges. The full rubric is in the Official Judging Scorecard in the Resources section.
Will evaluators know which school submitted a proposal?
No. Evaluators see proposals identified by Team ID only. No school name, principal name, or district is visible during scoring.
How many teams advance from district finals?
The number of advancing teams will be confirmed by MEMR. Check the timeline for district finals dates.
Technical
I cannot log in to my team dashboard. What do I do?
Ensure you are using the Team ID (not an email address) as your username. If you have forgotten your PIN, contact the technical support email.
The file upload is failing. What could be wrong?
Check that your file is PDF, PNG, or JPEG and is under 2.5 MB. If the problem persists, try a different browser or device and contact technical support.
