Our Commitment
The Lagos State Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is committed to ensuring the LCESIC 2026 portal is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.
Measures Taken
- All interactive elements (buttons, links, form fields) have a minimum touch target size of 44x44px
- Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements
- Colour contrast ratios meet WCAG 2.1 AA requirements across all text sizes
- All decorative images are marked aria-hidden to prevent screen reader clutter
- Form fields have programmatic labels; error messages are linked to their fields
- The site is navigable by keyboard alone
- Semantic HTML is used throughout (headings follow logical hierarchy)
- No content flashes more than 3 times per second
Known Limitations
The animated SVG illustrations on the homepage may not be fully perceivable for users of assistive technologies. These illustrations are decorative and marked appropriately so that their absence does not affect understanding of the page content.
Word documents in the Resources section (handbook, scorecard, innovation toolkit, safety guide) are provided by the ministry and have not been independently audited for accessibility. If you require these in an alternative format, contact us.
