About

What Is LCESIC?

Nigeria's first state-level clean energy innovation competition for secondary school students.

The Lagos Cleaner Energy Schools Innovation Challenge is a Lagos State government initiative led by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. It was created to channel the intellectual energy of secondary school students toward one of Nigeria's most urgent problems - energy access.

Teams of five SS1 or SS2 students, guided by a Teacher Mentor, develop a concept brief and prototype schematic for a clean energy solution in one of four technical tracks. Top proposals advance through district-level finals to a state championship judged by a multi-agency panel.

LCESIC is more than a competition. It is a pipeline - identifying and investing in the next generation of Nigerian energy engineers, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
